Michelle is the Owner and Editor of Fairfield County Mom and Westchester County Mom. She has spent her entire life in Fairfield County, growing up in Norwalk and now residing in Fairfield, CT. Michelle married her husband Chris in October of 2008. Before motherhood, she thought she was busy, but now life with her son Shane (March 2011), twins, Blake and Brynn (June 2013), Carl the French bulldog, and Hank the Lab; the meaning of hectic has been redefined! Michelle is also a working mom, teaching at a local public school. When she’s not doing laundry, creating lesson plans, and picking up toys, Michelle enjoys hosting her book club, watching Bravo TV, eating dark chocolate, and enjoying an extra large glass of wine.

contributor headshot - Aarika

Social Media Coordinator & Contributor

Aarika is a mom to two strong-willed daughters (July 2013 and December 2015) and her world will soon be turned upside down when she becomes a boy mom (September 2020). Originally from Ulster County, NY, she fell in love with her husband at a UConn football game when she told him he had nice biceps and the rest is history. Her family has called Trumbull home since 2014. When she’s not spending hours commuting to work on the Merritt Parkway listening to true crime podcasts, she enjoys baking, good food, summer days spent at Pinewood Lake or on vacation in Cape Cod, and mindlessly streaming too many shows on the couch with her husband. Her favorite time of day is early morning before her kids wake up with a hot cup of coffee and a good book.

Elisabeth P.

Sponsorship Coordinator & Contributor

Elisabeth is a stay-at-home mom who lives in Fairfield with her husband Andrew and three daughters (born in 2010, 2013 and 2016). She grew up in Litchfield County and moved to Fairfield from Stamford after having her second child. Elisabeth was previously an elementary school teacher but now feels very blessed to be home with her children (although it’s not an easy job!). She loves to bake and cook, go to the beach with her family, and share a glass of wine with friends!

contributor headshot - Jana

Jana is a stay-at-home mom, currently living in Greenwich with her husband, Iain, and daughters, Laila and Nora. Jana is originally from Westchester County, NY, met Iain at college, married in June 2011, welcomed Laila in December 2012, and welcomed Nora in August 2015. On any given day, you can find her playing, reading, or out and about running too many errands and taking advantage of some of the many perks that Greenwich and Fairfield County have to offer.

Maria S.

contributor headshot - Maria S

Maria is a full-time mom, teacher, wife, and daughter who feels pulled in too many directions! Her older son Michael took over 24 hours to be born, and at six-months-old was diagnosed with allergies to dairy, eggs, soy, shrimp, and wheat…all after exclusively nursing because she was SO SURE that would help him be a healthy kid. Luckily at age 1, he began to outgrow some of his allergies. Fingers crossed the others will soon follow because that plus a husband who doesn’t eat any veggies and Maria always battling her weight makes for three meals to prepare every night. Luckily, Christopher, her younger son, is a cooperative eater! Unfortunately, sleep is minimal. No wonder she’s so dang tired! It’s a good thing she loves to cook and doesn’t require more than 7 hours of sleep since she often gets far fewer than that. She is addicted to Scandal, Nashville, How to Get Away with Murder, most cooking shows, and Jane the Virgin. Most nights, she’s content to surf Pinterest and pin way too many crafty pins she will never do.

contributor headshot - Hilary

Hilary was born and raised in New York City. She moved to Connecticut after college to go to graduate school, where she met her husband Dan on their very first day. She now lives in Ridgefield with her husband and their two rugrats, a daughter C (born 2013) and a son L (born 2015). She works from home as an attorney, which would be completely impossible without coffee (for mom) and television (for the rugrats). She spends most of her free time (when there is any!) reading, drawing, DIY-ing, and listening to lots of music. You can find her over at on Instagram at @apinchofsaltus where she documents her life as a mom through all things colorful.

Daria lives in Norwalk with her husband, son (born 2015), and daughter (born 2017). She grew up in Connecticut (Hartford County) but spent most of her adult life in New York City until recently moving back to Connecticut with her husband to start their family. Daria juggles two young kids and a demanding full-time career. When she’s not spending time with her family or working, she’s daydreaming about where she’ll travel to next.

contributor headshot - Meg

Meghan is a mom of twins and two rescue dogs. But most importantly she’s a wife, planner, and organizer of her family. She’s been in education for the past 13 years. She graduated from Bank Street School of Education with a dual Masters in General and Special Education in 2007. She started her career in New York and has been teaching in Connecticut since 2014.

Maria F.

Maria F. is a high school English teacher who naturally finds herself reflecting upon the beautiful struggles that accompany the routine and randomness of each day as a working mommy. She relies upon humor and some sort of chocolate treat as survival tactics, at home, at work, and, of course, in her beloved dream car, a minivan. She and her husband live in Norwalk with their three kids, Abbie (born 2012), Charlie (born 2014), and Phoebe (born 2018). Maria F. loves exploring all that Fairfield County has to offer, and as a native New Yorker, she will continue her search for a true good slice of pizza.

Kate S.

Kate S. is a mom at home in Fairfield with her 4 kids (2 girls and 2 boys). Kate’s sister introduced her to Chris, whom she married in 2010. They welcomed their first daughter in 2012, a son in 2014, another daughter in 2016, and finally another boy in 2018. Kate and Chris’s parenting motto would probably be, “Just take them with you.” As a family, they continue to enjoy activities like skiing, kayaking, and hiking by taking turns to teach the older kids or strapping babies into backpacks. A former English teacher, Kate keeps in touch with her passion for childhood literacy by running book drives, book fairs, and shopping events for Usborne Books. Kate can be found out and about exploring with her kids, volunteering at their schools, or laughing with other moms at the beautiful chaos of life with children.

She enjoys reading, tennis, cooking, baking, and grocery shopping!

Sonique lives in Stamford, Connecticut with her family. Although she is a part-time working wife and mom, she is not too busy to enjoy a few of her favorite things. She enjoys cooking traditional Jamaican dishes, getting lost in a good book, and catching up on good sleep whenever she can.

Caitlin is an elementary school teacher who lives in Shelton. She has a Master’s degree in Reading and a second Master’s degree in Educational Technology. She married her husband Tim in July of 2015, had their first baby Liliana in June of 2017, and very quickly after welcomed their second daughter Kinley in July of 2018. They have a golden doodle named Boomer. She enjoys traveling to sunny and tropical destinations, spending summers in Newport with her family, dancing, chocolate, and going on adventures with her babies.

Kate M.

Kate is a working mom who is constantly trying to balance the chaos of a full-time advertising career with caring for 2 children. When not working or chasing her kids you can find Kate sweating it out at a Bar Method Class or watching reality TV with wine in hand! Having it all may be a myth but Kate is trying her damnedest to live a balanced life. She hopes you can relate as you follow along on her crazy journey through motherhood!

Charity works part-time as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the CT Birth to Three system. She thinks it’s the best of both worlds because she gets to work in a job she loves (and needs to pay off those hefty grad school loans!) and be home a few days a week with her children. Charity enjoys theatre, and brings her son often. She’s also a big fan of coffee, reality TV, and essential oils. You can follow her personal blog at: www.coldfoodandcarpools.wordpress.com.

She works in Fairfield as a children’s mental health therapist, which is a dream job for her and brings more joy and fulfillment than she ever had in the corporate world. You are also able to find her on Instagram @the_storied_mind where she creates posts in the hopes of helping others and breaking the stigma for people to reach out for help in terms of their mental health.
