That First Sip Feeling: My Favorite Iced Coffee in Fairfield County

0

iced coffeeAnyone who knows me knows that I live for a great iced latte or iced coffee. Especially in the summer, but really all year long. Little else brings me the joy of having a really delicious, iced, caffeinated beverage in my hand. I prefer it with soy, almond, or oat milk (depending on the drink and the place) and one packet of stevia. It has to be smooth, nice and strong, and definitely cold, but not from too much ice; a watery iced coffee is a definite no-no in my book. For anyone else as addicted as I am, I’ve created a list of Fairfield County coffee shops serving great iced lattes and/or coffees.

Source Coffeehouse {Bridgeport}

In the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, Source is a great spot to grab an iced vanilla bean latte before heading to St. Mary’s. It’s also a comfortable place to sit and chat or get some work done. They also serve plenty of vegan and gluten-free food options.

Grounds Donut House {Danbury}

An amazing donut spot with a full coffee menu, including cold brew, iced lattes, flavored syrups, and non-dairy milk (hint – all of my suggestions offer at least one non-dairy milk choice).

Candlewood Market {Fairfield}

Located in the Sportsplex, Candlewood has lots of space and plenty of tables to stay and relax or work while your kiddo is at gymnastics/hockey/pottery/rock climbing/Parks & Rec/etc.

The Last Drop {Monroe}

Be sure to try the iced chai latte and enjoy the comfy seating. They also have full breakfast, lunch, and kids menus.

Terra Café {Monroe}

Another spot that also serves healthy lunch and breakfast foods, with lots of vegan and gluten-free options.

Affogato {Norwalk}

Simple and delicious – for a treat, get the affogato, or stick with the cold brew or iced latte.

The Dilly Duck Shop {Norwalk}

A rare find – full restaurant (kid-friendly!) serving cold brew, iced lattes, and non-dairy milks.

Common Grounds {Shelton}

Great baked goods.

Honey Joe’s Family Coffeehouse {Stamford}

They make a great draft latte and oat milk latte, but that’s not all: this place has an enclosed play area for your little ones to use while you enjoy your beverage! They also have a meeting room to rent out, and great events from time to time, like children’s mindfulness classes and visits from children’s book authors.

Lorca {Stamford}

Also serving breakfast, pastries, delicious churros, and babyccinos for your tot. Be sure to try the cold brew latte.

Turning Point Coffee and Wine Bar {Stamford}

I think the name speaks for itself here…

Plasko’s Farm Creamery & Café {Trumbull}

Not only are you in a rustic barn on a beautiful farm where they serve creamy ice cream, fresh breads, and donuts, but you can also get a great cold brew. Or, try one of their fun, sweet latte flavors.

GG & Joe {Westport}

A pretty spot on Main Street, overlooking the water. Get the iced Caramella latte. They also have delicious acai bowls and smoothies.

Granola Bar {Fairfield, Greenwich, Stamford, & Westport }

Delicious food, including yogurt parfaits, smoothies, and salad/grain bowls. Be sure to try the iced Turkish latte.

Roost {Darien, Greenwich, & Stamford}

A self-proclaimed “Instagrammable” spot serving breakfast, smoothies, and lunch. Be sure to try the iced matcha latte.

Shearwater Coffee {Fairfield, Trumbull, & Westport}

 High-quality coffee beans – keep it simple with a classic iced coffee or iced latte here.

Tusk & Cup {Ridgefield & Wilton}

Great iced lattes as well as gelato and frappes.

Winfield Street Coffee {Stamford, Westport, & Wilton}

The neon wall sign reads “read more books, drink more coffee,” so it’s safe to say this place is now my life coach. Plus the delicious iced flash brew and iced black tea latte are amazing.

What’s your favorite spot for a nice iced brew?
