Progressive Diagnostics, Fairfield County’s local COVID-19 RT-PCR clinical lab, recently opened a second testing location in Shelton in March. This is the company’s ninth testing location.
Progressive’s lab is located in Trumbull, and unlike other COVID testing labs, has provided same-day test results throughout the pandemic if tests take place before 12 p.m. weekdays. If tested after 12 p.m. on weekdays, results are posted the next day (but are usually reported the same day around midnight). Weekends and holiday situations may differ. 
Progressive’s CEO Curt Kuliga says, “We know that behind each test we perform is a concerned individual with equally concerned family, friends, and colleagues. Our RT-PCR testing is the most accurate technology available today with true positive and negative rates of 98% and 99%, respectively. Speed is one of our advantages. Fast test results can make a big difference in individual lives and in the health of our communities by allowing people to know what they need to do for themselves and their families, at school and work, and with social and travel plans.”
The company’s employees, along with its affiliate Progressive Institute, an outpatient mental health and addiction treatment provider, donate testing proceeds to local mental health and addiction treatment organizations.
Progressive Diagnostics has made the COVID-19 testing experience quick, easy and affordable. Walk-ins are welcome, though pre-registration is highly encouraged.
Appointments can be easily scheduled on their website’s home page or the “Book an Appointment” page. Results are provided through a HIPPA compliant online portal once the patient has registered. 
The company also provides no costs in-school testing for grades PreK–12 partnered with the state of Connecticut as a part of the COVID DeteCT Program. They also test at colleges, private businesses, and homeless shelters.
