fall festivalsIt’s hard to believe it, but Fall is almost upon us! I don’t know about you, but fall is far and beyond my favorite time of year. Kids are back to school (parents rejoice), the sweaters come out of storage, and it becomes acceptable to flavor everything with pumpkin spice. Another aspect of my love for fall is all of the fun festivals in our surrounding Connecticut towns

Fortunately, many fairs that were on a “COVID” hiatus last year are scheduled to take place!

Check out this list for some of the popular fall festivals going on during the months of September and October:

Greenwich Town Party – September 5

  • Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, 100 Arch Street, Greenwich
  • 10:00 a.m.- 10:00 p.m.
  • See the website for all ticket options. Must purchase ahead of time.

Hebron Harvest Fair September 9-12

  • Lions Fairgrounds, 347 Gilead Street, Hebron
  • Thursday: 4:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
    • $1 for adults, children under 12 free
  • Friday: 12:00 p.m. – 12 a.m., Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m., Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
    • $14 for adults, children under 12 free

Norwalk Oyster Festival – September 10-12

  • Veterans Memorial Park, 213 Liberty Square, Norwalk
  • Friday: 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., Sunday: 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
    • $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $6 for 5-12 year olds, children under 5 free

St Peter’s Annual Apple Festival – September 11-12

  • Monroe Green (Route 111)
  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    • Free admission and free parking

Berlin Fair – September 17-19

  • Berlin Fairgrounds, 430 Beckley Road, Berlin 
  • Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. 
    • $14 for adults, $10 for seniors, active military, and children 11 and under free

Newtown Arts Festival – September 17-19

  • Fairfield Hills; Corner of Trades Lane & DG Beers Blvd., Newtown
  • Saturday and Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    • $5 for adults, $3 for children 6-12, children 5 and under free

Guilford Fair – September 17-19

  • Guilford Fairgrounds, Lovers Lane, Guilford
  • Friday: 1:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.; Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.; Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. 
    • $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, children under 11 free

Durham Fair – September 23-26

  • Durham Fairgrounds, 70 Maple Avene, Durham
  • Thursday: 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
    • $9 for adults, active military, wheelchair attendees, and children under 11 free
  • Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    • $15 for adults, $11 for seniors, active military, wheelchair attendees, and children under 11 free

Southington Apple Harvest Festival October 1-3 & 8-10

  • Southington Town Green, 75 Main Street, Southington

    • Free admission

Portland Agricultural Fair October 1-3

  • 1348 Main Street, Portland
  • Friday: 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    • $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, active military, and children under 10 free
