Working out makes you feel great but finding the time while still being there for your baby is tough! Enter…. Fit4Mom Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre classes where your baby is part of the class! I discovered Stroller Strides just before I had my son when searching for mom’s groups. Since I had always taught exercise classes, and Fit4Mom promises classes that are “Fitness for Mom, Fun for Baby,” it sounded perfect, and it was! I have been attending and teaching Stroller Strides for a little over a year and love it!

So What ARE Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre?

I have to admit it. First, I assumed the class entailed moms simply walking with their babies in tow. Still, in actuality, the classes are a fantastic combination of cardio and strength intervals with varying levels that allow the participants (new moms, long time moms, pregnant moms, and often their spouses, partners, and family members as well) to work at the level that is right for them. During the workout, the moms sing, play games (think Where is Thumbkin, This Little Piggy), and more to make it fun for the kids (and it makes the time fly for the moms, too!). Fit4Mom also has playgroups after many of the classes, which makes it a great way to meet other moms and for the kids to make new friends too!Stroller Strides June 13 to July 13 335

Who is it for?

All moms of stroller age children. Instructors are trained to teach moms of all different fitness levels and provide modifications whether you are just getting back into working out, pregnant, or looking for a challenge.

Where can I find a class?

Shanae Briggs, owner of the Fit4Mom Fairfield County franchise, and her team of instructors run a variety of classes in Stamford, Norwalk, Darien, and Greenwich Monday – Saturday. Check out the details here. They have recently added Stroller Barre workouts which have become one of the most popular offerings. Stroller Barre incorporates ballet, pilates, and barre methods with pre and postnatal training.

Due to demand for classes in other parts of Fairfield County, Jessie Paulson, owner of the Fit4Mom Northern Fairfield County franchise, launched Stroller Strides this month in Ridgefield, Bethel, and Danbury. Classes are being offered Monday – Friday at some great locations. Check out the details here.

  1. I would love to win the 5 class pack for Fit4Mom Fairfield County because it is such a great idea for busy moms! I remember before I had my daughter, I would giggle at women who would say how now that they are mom’s they did not have time for themselves. Now that I am a mommy, I totally get it and can’t believe how difficult it is to carve out time for myself. However exercising does so much for us — it gets us in shape so we feel and look good. The Stroller Strides class takes some of the guilt away from not being with your baby or leaving them in a gym daycare with a stranger. With them by your side, they get a giggle watching mommy running around and turning red while they enjoy a new environment. Really great idea!!

  2. I would love to win the class pack offered by Fit4Mom Fairfield County because I had my baby 4.5 months ago and am really struggling with motivation to exercise on my own. I think Stroller Strides would provide the motivation to exercise because I would be around other moms in similar situations and I will still be able to be close to my baby. It would also be nice for my baby to be around other babies. Overall, I feel that Stroller Strides provides a lot of benefits that traditional exercise does not! 🙂

  3. I would be thrilled if I won the 5 pack of classes by Fit4Mom fairfield County! My son is 11 months and I am struggling to find that “me” time. Exercise has always been a great release for me but with a full time job and my mommy responsibilities, I’m having trouble fitting it in. I’m looking to jump start a new routine for myself and my son. I am especially interested in trying the stroller barre classes!

  4. I need this!!! I’m 10 pounds still from my pre baby weight and going in the wrong direction!!! I have a gym membership I never use because I never have time and I end up eating practically 6 meals a day, 3 of my own and my picky daughters leftovers. I need to get back in shape. I’m also in lower Fairfield county.

  5. Oh I would love to win this (for Northern Fairfield County). I still have a few extra pounds to go to get back to my pre pregnancy weight, and my body definitely needs toning after 3 babies!

  6. I love stroller strides and would love to win this! It is awesome to be able to bring my daughter along with me while I excercise– it is important to me to excercise and I love being able to share healthy habits with her.
