Yup, any experienced mom knows that to stay sane during summer break, you need to put those kiddos in camp! But there are so many options out there to choose from. Whether your child is into sports and dance, performing arts, computer technology, or shows an interest in sleepaway camps, we’ve put together our third annual Summer Camp Guide. MOCA WESTPORT


Registration for Camp MoCA Summer 2022 is now open! Camp MoCA, located at 19 Newtown Turnpike in Westport, CT, features weekly sessions from June 6 to August 22, 2022. Each week of camp includes art activities, hands-on agricultural and gardening lessons, outdoor fun, and special events. Campers also have unique access to engage with MoCA Westport’s contemporary art exhibitions. Camp MoCA Westport is led by certified art educators & CPR/First Aid-certified camp counselors. The camp operates weekly from Monday through Friday, rain or shine. Campers can sign up for a single week or multiple weeks at a time. Camp MoCA 2022 now offers more options, including: Full Day Camp (Ages 3.5 – 8): 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Half Day Camp (Ages 3.5 – 8): 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Afternoon Intensive Art Camp (Ages 9 – 12): 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. In the afternoon session for ages 9 -12, each week will feature intensive art enrichment opportunities for our older campers led by certified art instructors.

Soccer Shots is an engaging introductory soccer program for children ages 2-8, focusing on character development. THE MARITIME AQUARIUM AT NORWALK


Fuel your children’s wonder and excitement about sharks, seals, turtles, and other fascinating marine animals through the fun, hands-on summer camp programs of The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk. One- and two-week sessions for ages 6-8 and 9-12 will start June 20-24, focusing on such topics as sharks and fish, animal habitats, marine research, and environmental engineering. Stories and games will launch young campers (ages 6-8) into fun experiments, crafts, and aquarium discoveries. Older kids (ages 9-12) will enjoy a special focus on how technology and engineering can solve complex environmental problems like water pollution, marine debris, and storm resiliency. For ages 13-15, three-week “Teen Apprentice” sessions start July 4 and August 1 and let campers work side-by-side with the Aquarium’s Animal Husbandry and Education staff. The Maritime Aquarium adheres to CT COVID-19 regulations, including mask requirements and social distancing, giving you peace of mind and your child the chance to discover and learn with new friends.

Learn, connect, and have fun this summer. St. Luke’s wide range of programs includes arts and STEM programs, academic classes and skill-building, and sports camps. Families have many dates, times, and options to choose from. Safety is their top priority. All campers must be fully vaccinated. Character, leadership, and the highest level of sportsmanship distinguish St. Luke’s athletics. Under the direction of the experienced and knowledgeable coaching staff, campers will take advantage of St. Luke’s state-of-the-art athletic facilities in a fun and safe environment. Multi-sport Camp (ages 5-14) features soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, field hockey, basketball, squash, tennis, and more! Baseball Camp (ages 6-12) teaches baseball fundamentals and develops individual player skill sets. Football Camp (ages 6-13) is an opportunity for players to have fun and learn football fundamentals while building confidence and supreme character. Basketball camp (ages 5-13) is designed for players to learn the fundamentals of the game and the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and competitiveness. Campers will work on individual skills and participate in age-appropriate competitions and games. For all St. Luke’s Summer Sports Camps, safety is their top priority. New Canaan YMCA Summer Camps offer a variety of experiences for children of all ages and abilities, with each camp offering safe and supervised fun provided by a caring, responsible staff. Each child gains something different at our camps: making new friends, learning to swim, self-confidence, independence, and leadership—skills that last far beyond the summer. Registration is now available for Y members. Summer member registration begins March 1.
VALENTINA KOZLOVA DANCE CONSERVATORY.


Valentina Kozlova Dance Conservatory (VKDC) was created 20 years ago by Valentina Kozlova, former Principal Dancer with Bolshoi Ballet and New York City Ballet. VKDC’s faculty specialize in Ballet and Contemporary dance only. The studio trains young dancers from Pre-Ballet to Pre-Professionals, roughly from 5 to 18 years of age. With a less formal yet still challenging rhythm, summer dance camp is an excellent opportunity for dancers from the studio to further their training and for newcomers to revisit the fundamentals of classical dance as taught by teachers who trained in the Vaganova method. Join them for a summer of dance and fun, July 5-30 at VKDC, conveniently located on the Norwalk-Westport border.
CENTER STAGE THEATRE


Center Stage Theatre in Shelton offers summer programming for students entering K-12 to spend their summer singing, dancing, and acting. Programs include Rising Stars (Gr K-2), inviting little performers to act, sing, and dance to songs and scenes from popular Disney musical films. Broadway’s Best with Industry Professionals: A Musical Theatre Intensive (Gr 7-8) featuring masterclasses from Broadway professionals, culminating with a special performance on the last day of the session. Under the Big Top (Gr 3-8), exploring music, scenework, and choreography straight out of the circus from musicals such as The Greatest Showman, Sideshow, and Pippin. Broadway Blockbusters (Gr 3-8) exploring music, scenes, and dances from some of Broadway’s greatest hits, including Footloose, Hamilton, and Wicked, all culminating with a final day performance.
