Did the Volvo XC90 Turn Me Into a Car Person?

The Volvo XC90.I admit it; I’m a bit of a car snob. Even now, driving around in more of a “mom mobile,” I had to have the newest and sleekest option.

While I do find a car to be a good way to express yourself, just as you would any other accessory, I also look for the important things such as safety rating, comfortability, remote start for those cold days, and a big enough space to cart around my large family and sports gear from point A to point B.

When offered the chance to test drive a Volvo XC90 for the weekend, I figured why not try something new, and who can resist that brand new car smell?

I picked up the Volvo on a Friday morning. It was a busy weekend of sports for us, but I had both Friday and Monday off, so I figured it would be nice to cart around and see if it could be a viable future option for us.

Not only is the car stunning, but the features are amazing.

The panoramic sunroof is something that I realized I have been missing in my current vehicle. The car is fitted with a Harman Kardon sound system throughout. Volvo has truly left no stone unturned.

The technology was top-notch, and I felt at ease due to all the safety features.

The lane assist kept me safely in the lane during my drive home. The navigation on the dash and digital monitors kept me on track with speed and location, and the Apple CarPlay feature let me easily and safely have text messages read and responded to while driving if needed. The dash also kept me posted on who was buckled up and what door was open. The Volvo XC90 dashboard.

The kids loved the comfort of the back seat and all the fun features for them to experiment with.

One of my husband’s favorite features was the foot-activated power liftgate. We could easily load in our purchases when running errands or sports equipment when coming off the field. Another favorite feature was the auto windshield wipers in the rain, which is just one less thing to think about while driving in nasty weather!

Our weekend with the Volvo XC90 was really wonderful. I notice myself doing a double take every time I see one pass me by now. Perhaps because of that panoramic sunroof that I’m still dreaming of.

When it’s time to purchase our next vehicle, the Volvo XC90 is on our list. Everyone at Riley Volvo Cars Stamford was super friendly and accommodating. You can sense that it is a family-run business, and I would happily recommend them to anyone looking for their next car!
