The Value of Journaling Gratitude

0

Writing in a journal. Life. It can be beautiful, and it can be heavy.

We may find ourselves in the midst of struggle and still accept that there are always brighter days ahead. When the world’s weight seems too much to bear, I seek out gratitude. As I prepare to welcome my second child early next month, I have found journaling to be an integral part of my evening routine and imagine it to support me through the postpartum period and beyond.

Below are some helpful journaling prompts to motivate your writing and get you into practicing gratitude.

1. Share your favorite moment of the day…

2. Share something beautiful you have seen…

3. A quote from the day that really stood out…

4. What about your child’s development is amazing to you at this stage of life?

5. Share an unexpected good thing from your day…

6. What qualities are you thankful that you possess?

7. Share about a time you felt valued by someone else…

8. Nature. What do you love about it?

9. Share a recent challenge you were able to overcome…

10. Reflect on your most challenging moments as a parent. How can you show yourself grace for all that you have overcome?
