Ultimate Gift Guide For Busy Moms

0

Let’s face it, the holiday season is a whirlwind. As soon as it hits December 1, it seems like life gets crazier each day. Between gift shopping, holiday baking, parties and decorating, it feels like we never get to sit down. In my family, we celebrate both Hannukah and Christmas, so the entire month of December is filled with holiday chaos.

But what about us? Who is taking care of the moms during the holiday season? I have rounded up a list of great gifts to ask for this holiday season to (hopefully) make our lives as busy moms a little easier, and some added in just for fun! Feel free to send this post as a hint to your significant other or family member. Or, better yet, let me be your secret Santa and I can send this list to anyone you think needs a little hint about what to get you for the holidays. Let’s let the holidays be about us for once!

For looking our best:

 .

As moms, we are constantly running from place to place. Whether it’s school pickup, after-school activities, sports, play dates, work, meetings, it seems like we are always on the go. As the temperatures drop, so can our hair! We tend to deal with static and dryness and let’s face it, who wants to blow dry their hair every day? Dry shampoo has been my saving grace to help deal with static, but to also mask the fact that I have not washed my hair in three days. I have tried several brands and the one I have liked the most is Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo. It smells great and does not leave that white residue that many dry shampoos can. Spray some of this on and you are good to go in between washes. If you cannot go 3-4 days in between washes then you need to get yourself this new Revlon hair dryer that is basically a round brush and blow dryer in one. It cuts the drying and styling time of your hair in half since it gets them both done at the same time! It also left my hair feeling silky and smooth and is easy to use and hold. This is a great gift to ask for, or get for yourself!

For making dinner time easier:

Forget the instant-pot, the air fryer is the new kitchen tool of choice for busy moms. I admit, when I heard the word “fryer” I was not convinced that this was something I wanted to use. But as I researched more, it turns out an air fryer does not even need to use oil and can cook up things nice and crispy in a matter of minutes. I am now obsessed with watching YouTube videos and searching on Pinterest for air fryer recipes. The Ninja air fryer has come highly recommended and would make a great gift for not only a busy mom, but a busy dad or family in general.

For feeling cozy without looking schlumpy:

Winter time makes me want to curl up under the covers and hide for four months. But we know moms don’t have that luxury. So when the temperatures drop below freezing and you still have to get the kids from basketball practice at 7 p.m. or pick up your husband from the train station, you need something warm and cozy to throw on that won’t make you look like you just rolled out of bed. The best leggings I have found by far are the Spanx leggings. Not only are they comfortable and hold you in, in all the right places, but they are also fashionable. I recently gave in to the blogger hoopla around the faux leather Spanx leggings and I have to say, I am now a believer. Not only are these comfy, but they make you look put together even though you are still wearing leggings! You can dress them up or down and they still do the trick. Besides the leather version, they also have a new velvet version that would look great for the holiday. Don’t be turned off by the price tag, they are a little pricey, but you will thank me later!

If you’re like me and want to cover up your booty while wearing leggings, I have the perfect cozy sweatshirt for you. This oversized fleece pullover from Express is the coziest thing I have seen all season. It is fleece-lined as well so you will be surrounded by coziness! It also comes in a variety of colors and always goes on sale. I am sure anyone would be happy to pull this out of the box at holiday time.

For staying at home and cuddling up:

When you just don’t want to get off the couch or want to have a few minutes of alone time, you want to feel cozy and relaxed. This barefoot dreams blanket is like being surrounded by a cloud. It is literally that cozy. There is a reason you have seen bloggers and celebrities toting this blanket around with them everywhere. Yes, it is pricey but it is an investment gift that will last forever. This blanket is one of those things you would never splurge on for yourself, but if you need an idea of the perfect gift for you or any other busy moms, put this blanket on the list! While you are getting cozy, slip these Target slippers on your feet and you will really start to relax. I tried these on in the store and did not want to take them off. There are many other retailers that sell slippers identical to these for a lot more money. Don’t be fooled, these are just as cozy and will make your feet happy all winter.

For keeping up with it all:

I don’t know about you, but I feel like it’s even harder to keep track of events during the holiday season. Between kids’ class parties, to family events and get-togethers, I need a place to keep it all in order. The new breed of Smartwatches are incredible! Fossil has a new line of the wearable devices that come in so many styles. You can check your email, get text messages, see what the weather will be like, track your steps and keep up-to-date with your busy calendar, all on your wrist!  It’s a great alternative to a pricey apple watch with the same helpful features. If you are in the market for a pricier present for yourself, check out the Garmin smartwatch. I may be putting this one on my wish list this year!

Let’s welcome the holiday season knowing that as moms, we will be rewarded for all of the hard work we do for our families. Knowing that any of these gifts can make our lives a little easier, and stylish, is just what the holiday fairies ordered! Enjoy the season and Happy New Year!
