Theme Nights with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers

Growing up in New York and marrying a sports fan, I am no stranger to live sporting events. Moving to Northern Fairfield County and having three children in two years dramatically changed the way we view sports.

I was excited and a bit nervous about attending our first family hockey game with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Walking into Webster Bank Arena calmed all my fears, and I knew we were going to have a great night.

On December 27, we attended First Responders Night and Teddy Bear Toss Night. There was a fleet of first responder trucks. This made my twins jump for joy. We explored an army truck, fire truck, ambulance, and police scuba truck. Entering the arena, each child was handed a teddy bear to be thrown on the ice after the first Sound Tiger goal. All stuffed animals would be donated to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. My girls chose not to toss their bears, but my son bravely did.

Walking around the arena, we found food that we all could enjoy – an excellent ratio of what I call kid food – chicken fingers, popcorn, and pizza to adult food – a taco food cart. I personally helped myself to a dozen So Fresh Doughnut Co. mini donuts while my husband grabbed a beer.

I wasn’t sure if the kids would stay in their seats, but they were captivated by the fast action on the ice and the songs and games in between. When my littlest one got too wiggly I took her to jump in the arenas jumping castle.

Our family outing was a success thanks to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. My five year old has asked to return multiple times, and my husband wants to plan a guy’s outing there too.

Some upcoming theme nights are:

  • Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15 – Stick It To Cancer

  • Saturday, March 21 – Girls Hockey Celebration

Jamie is a mom to a daughter (2014) and boy/girl twins (2016). She was born and raised in Westchester County, NY and together with her husband (married in 2011), made Danbury, CT their hometown. Jamie is a real estate agent with William Raveis Real Estate. In the present day, more than ever before, “home” is an essential and safe place in an ever-changing world. Helping clients achieve their homeownership goals, searching for the home that’s “just right,” or helping them move on from a home that no longer serves them drives Jamie in her real estate career. Home for Jamie is Northern Fairfield County, and she never gets tired of spending time in the community with her family, visiting her favorite parks, and exploring local shops and restaurants. Jamie can be found on the Peloton leaderboard at 6:30 every morning, which fuels her long days of work and momming. Morning workouts are as athletic as she gets, and her favorite thing is tucking her children in at night and catching up on whatever show she is streaming. As much as she loves staying in, she doesn’t pass up a night out with her childhood girlfriends or a date night with her hubby.
