Summer Fairs and Festivals in Fairfield County 2015!

Who’s ready for some fair food, fun activities, and family entertainment? I know I am, especially after so many months of being cooped up inside. Here’s a list of the fairs and festivals in Fairfield County this summer for you to attend. Have fun!SDRandCo (36)

MAY 21 – JUNE 28

  • Barnum Festival  is located in Bridgeport. The festival is host to a variety of entertainment, such as Jenny Lind Concert, a couple of parades, and concludes with an over-the-top fireworks display at Seaside Park. Check their website for day, time and location.

JUNE 12-14

  • The Greek Experience 2015 at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church (30 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury). Friday, 5-11 PM; Saturday, 12-11 PM; and Sunday, 12-9 PM. If you’re looking for traditional Greek food like gyros, baklava and souvlaki, this is the place to be. Also enjoy dancing, raffles, games, and other activities. Parking is available nearby at Danbury High School and regular shuttle bus service is provided. Admission is free!

June 13-14

  • PopShop Market (formally the Annual Arts and Crafts Show) of Fairfield, located at Fairfield’s Town Hall Green, 611 Old Post Road on June 13th, from 10 AM – 4 PM and June 14th, from 10 AM – 3 PM. The event features a variety of artists and crafts people from throughout the Northeast.

June 13

  • Oxford Day, 10 AM – 4 PM at Oxford High School, 61 Quaker Farms Road. The day’s activities will include crafters, food, entertainment, and much more.
  • The Glass House Summer Party  located at The Glass House, 199 Elm Street, New Canaan will run from 12-4 PM, featuring a picnic, performances, games and other lawn games like croquet and ping-pong. Stop by the photo booth to capture the moment. Admission is only $5. 
  • Keeler Tavern Family History Day, from 1-3 PM you can enjoy historical re-enactments, animals, period-appropriate games, crafts, and other activities at 25 Main Street, Ridgefield.

June 14

  • Bazaar at the Points from 9 AM – 3 PM at the United Congregational Church, 275 Richards Avenue, Norwalk. Spend some time with the vendors selling their items, new and gently used, and learn what the non-profit members of the community have in store for you. Food trucks will also be on site! 
  • Georgetown Day is located on Main Street in Georgetown from 12-6 PM. This is the 13th year of the annual festival. Listen to many of the 10 bands playing throughout the day, shop with vendors, have your children enjoy the children’s area and activities, and enjoy the food, including the chili cook-off competition. 

June 19-21

  • Fairfield County Irish Festival is on Friday 6-11 PM, Saturday 12-11PM, Sunday 12-7:30 PM at Fairfield University, 1073 North Benson Road. A celebration of Irish music, art, and sports, with non-stop entertainment, vendors, children’s activities, fabulous food and drink, and, of course, Gaelic football and hurling. Admission is $12, and children under 14 are free when accompanied by an adult, 

June 20-21

  • Monroe Congregational Church Strawberry Festival will be held on Saturday, from 10 AM – 5 PM and Sunday from 12-5 PM at 4 Church Street. Over 75 juried exhibitors, local artists, strawberry-themed foods and desserts, activities for kids of all ages, music and entertainment for everyone. 
  • Soupstock Music and Arts Festival, starting saturday 10 AM-10 PM and ending Sunday, 11 AM-8 PM at The Slab (Veterans Memorial Park – 38 Canal Street East in Shelton). This is a family-friendly event with lots to see, hear, taste and experience. 

June 20

  • World of Colors – Cultural Festival at City Center Danbury Green from 10 AM – early evening. This free event welcomes everyone from all cultures to come and share customs from around the world. Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in their native costume.
  • Trumbull Summer Welcome Craft Festival from 11 AM – 5 PM at the Grace Episcopal Church (hall), 5958 Main Street (Route 111).

June 24-28

June 27-28

  • Norwalk Art Festival has high-quality, juried artists in different media, as well as, many different food offerings. Go to Lockwood Mathews Park (295 West Avenue) from 10 AM-5 PM.

June 28

  • Ridgefield Arts and Crafts Show will be held from 10 AM – 4 PM at Lounsbury House Grounds (316 Main Street). You’ll find a good assortment of original items; floral arrangements, clothing, folk art, furniture, pottery baskets, soaps, children’s toys, wood crafts and much more.

JULY 8-9

  • Westport Fine Arts Festival is on Saturday from 10 AM – 6PM and Sunday from 10 AM – 5 PM at Parker Harding Plaza and Gorham Island. Original, juried works will be displayed along the Saugatuck River. It will be a good time for the whole family with live music, performances, and children’s activities. 

July 11

  • Stamford Art Festival at McLevy Green from 10 AM – 6 PM. This a free family and community friendly event with tons of art, entertainment, activities, demonstrations, and food and drink.

July 18

  • Village Fair & Sidewalk Sale in New Canaan from 9 AM – 5 PM, with tons of activities planned for the whole family. The vendors will have some great deals and there will also be entertainment of all kinds!

July 26-27

  • Stamford Art Festival will have 100 juried fine art and craft artists exhibiting fine visual arts. There will be a lot of things for the whole family to see and experience. Located at Harbor Point Park, 201 Commons Park Street.

July 30- August 2

  • Gathering of the Vibes Music Festival has grown into a four-day festival that has featured well-known talent as well as up-and-coming and local bands and artists. The event is held at Seaside Park in Bridgeport.

AUGUST 8-9

  • Cannondale Village Summer Craft Festival from 10 AM – 4 PM at 28 Cannon Road in Wilton. This event is dedicated to providing high quality arts and crafts products. 

August 16

  • Kidologie Goes Back to School at Westfield Trumbull Mall from 11 AM – 3 PM. This Kidologie event brings a variety of businesses, services and goods geared toward children and families as they celebrate the coming of fall and the upcoming school year! There will be lots of free stuff! 

August 29

  • Trumbull Summer Farewell Craft Festival from 11 AM – 5 PM at Grace Episcopal Church (front lawn), 5958 Main Street.

August 30

  • Barefoot End of Summer Festival at the Colonial Tavern in Oxford.
  • Artists & Artisans in Paradise in Stratford from 10 AM – 5 PM this event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to enjoy the art and fine crafts for sale, live music, poetry, food, and interactive community art projects.
  • 83rd Annual Cannon Grange Agricultural Fair  will provide events and activities throughout the day for both the young and old, along the Norwalk River and in the historic Cannon Grange Hall, located just east of Route 7 at 25 Cannon Road in Wilton (across from the Cannondale train station).
