Suit Up! Swimwear That Will Float Your Boat

2

Hi there!  My name is Ann Quasarano.  When my son was born, more than 10 years ago, I longed for a site like this…somewhere where I could go for information, a sense of community, and an opportunity to commiserate with other new moms about my son’s sleep patterns (or lack thereof) – so I am thrilled to be part of this site and looking forward to sharing with you!

As writer that covers fashion, food, family, and fun in Fairfield County for my website, Fairfieldista, I’ve logged a lot of miles exploring the area’s boutiques and discovered the most unique and practical items for your wee ones.  Sure, we all love a great sale at the Gap, Old Navy, and Crewcuts, but sometimes you’re looking for something that you won’t find on every other kid at the playground – that’s where I come in…stay tuned for monthly kid style coverage that will keep your little ones looking cute, coordinated, and ready for an impromptu Instagram photo shoot!

This month we’re excited about heading to the beach!  So I visited one of my favorite new shops, Pink Lemon Blue Lime, located in Darien’s Goodwives Shopping Center, to see what owner Evelina Socha had in store and found some of the most adorable swimsuits, cover-ups, and accessories for your little beach baby!

You know how your little one’s favorite color is pink one moment and the next minute she hates pink and loooooves purple?  If you can relate, this reversible suit from the popular European brand, Sunuva, is for you – one side is pink with a yellow heart and reverses to a purple suit with pink heart applique.  Wait – there’s even more to love…UV protection is built into the fabric – brilliant!

I wish they made this in my size!  This swimsuit in a lovely shade of pinky-lavender has a modern abstract print with gold accents – a little bling for the beach.  This is for the girl who loves all things sparkly.  From swimwear designer Stella Cove.

How cute are the little elephants parading across this Lilo Tati swimsuit.  Socha says this suit is so popular that she can’t keep it in stock!

004 (427x640)

Another super-cute Stella Cove swimsuit – this one in blue and white with a charming ruffle detail at the leg.

A prettier alternative to the standard rash guard from Sunuva – this one has ruching on the sides and sleeves and a wreath of roses printed on the front.

011 (427x640)

The cute stuff isn’t just for girls!  Sunuva’s seahorse bedecked trunks and matching rash guard in bright red makes your little explorer stand out from the crowd!  All Sunuva’s swimwear has UV protection built in, so you won’t have to interrupt his intrepid search for hermit crabs to spritz him with sunblock.

Anchors away!  Set sail in this nautical inspired duo from Sunuva.

013 (640x427)

Shades of the sea in trunks from Havacoa, Stella Cole, and Suniva.

Protect their eyes with Babiators – sunglasses created for kids by a former Air Force pilot. As if protecting their eyes wasn’t enough of a reason to purchase these shades, if they are lost or broken the company will replace them free of charge….yup, you heard correctly – if you lose or break them due to normal wear and tear within a year of purchase they will send you a free replacement pair.  Made from pliable plastic in bright colors your kids will love!

Sun bonnets protect baby’s sweet head with style.  Super soft, breathable cotton is comfortable and cool and the wide brim keeps the sun off her precious baby skin.

015 (640x427)

Wrap up in style with thick, absorbent beach towels in bright stripey colors.

Pink Lemon Blue Lime provides an enclosed play area to keep little ones busy while mom shops!   They really think of everything!

Ann Quasarano, a Fairfield County based mom and writer is Fairfieldista. After working in public relations and special events in New York City for more than 15 years, I gave up the glamorous life (and hour-long commute) to work closer to my Fairfield County home. For the past 10 years, as a regular contributor to local websites, blogs and magazines, I’ve beaten a path (or sat in traffic) along I-95 covering all that is new and noteworthy in Fairfield County. In doing so, I’ve become the go-to person for friends and colleagues who are looking for the latest new boutique, event planner for fun nights out, and kid activity guru. Now I’m sharing this information with you! This year, I founded Fairfieldista.com, a local resource for women who don’t have the time to scour every local blog and website looking for the latest local happenings. One stop shopping – don’t you just love that!
