Another Step Towards Normal :: A Moms’ Night Out at Geronimo

Last summer, I was lucky enough to be invited to join a community of strong women with a love of family and community in common. Fairfield County Mom has been such a wonderful and welcoming group of ladies. The only downfall has been that it has all been virtual!

Finally, after a long year, I met all these awesome mamas in person at one of the most fun local restaurants! Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill in Fairfield. This place is such a vibe! The staff is wonderful and attentive; we were a large group of 22 women, and they were able to take care of our party with grace and ease.

To start, we each got a margarita or Sangria (which are half price during happy hour Monday-Thursday 3-5 p.m.!); I chose a strawberry/cucumber that was so refreshing and tasted just like you think summer would! We also got to try their tequila flights. If you have never been to Geronimo’s, I highly suggest starting with this! You get three shots of tequila and two chasers in the most eye-pleasing presentation. We loved the Fire Pit Flight (legal joven, xicaru reposado, scorpion añejo) and the Artesanal Flight (bozal ensamble mezcal, bozal tepeztate mezcal, bozal cuishe mezcal).

We also enjoyed their famous guacamole and chips. The guacamole was so fresh and delicious and kept you going back for more! It seemed like the staff could read our minds and brought extra chips to continue to indulge in the deliciousness!

Following the guac, we then got to try out some of the food items from their happy hour menu, which you can enjoy Monday-Thursday from 3-5 p.m. Each dish is more delicious than the next! There were grilled cheese triangles with an amazing smoked tomato dipping sauce, carnitas chalupa, and loaded veggie cheese fries. It makes me hungry just thinking about all this again!

Even though we were stuffed with all the apps, we had to order a few more entrees…if you are going to indulge, then this is the spot to do it. The lobster quesadilla, mushroom burrito, and spaghetti squash burrito bowl are our top picks!

I am very fortunate to work just down the street from Geronimo, and I am looking forward to going out to lunch with my co-workers, as they offer a lunch special Monday-Thursday from 12-3 p.m. You can pick either tortilla soup or Asado salad and two tacos of your choice for only $20!

If you’re looking for a fun place to meet your hubby after work to enjoy happy hour or a mom-break lunch with girlfriends, Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill is the spot to go!
