Whether we are ready or not, it’s back-to-school shopping season in Fairfield County! Back-to-school time is an exciting time in children’s lives, and one of the things that they look forward to the most is getting all their back-to-school outfits. This is the first and only year my twins will not have to wear uniforms to school. We look forward to going to stores and picking out their new wardrobes!
When shopping, I find it important to pick clothing after you have had a chance to see it in person, feel it, and know what it looks like on you. With this, you will avoid many arguments and avoid hearing things like, “I have nothing to wear,” or, “I don’t like this.”
Here are some local favorite shops!
Groove – You can shop in New Canaan or Westport. Groove is a one-stop shop for the whole family. With the coolest clothes, great designers, and looks that will have everyone stop and ask, “Where did you get that?”
Crewcuts – You can shop in New Canaan, Greenwich, or Westport. Crewcuts is everything you love about J.Crew, only smaller. They offer great choice and size variety, which is important when shopping for multiples. Find fun t-shirts, leggings, jeans, and accessories up to size 16. Don’t forget about JCrew Factory.
Vineyard Vines – Locations in New Canaan, Greenwich, or Westport. For the little prep in your life. Where better to satisfy this look than at Vineyard Vines, the land of smiling pink whales and embroidered ties and belts? You will give them that fresh-out-of-summer feel while looking great.
The Piccolina Shop – Located in Greenwich, caters to the younger child, baby to elementary age. The clothes are all amazing quality and super cute. You will be able to dress your younger children to the nines here.
Carter’s – There is a location in almost every town in Fairfield County. Now that your littles are off to school don’t forget about your favorite baby brand, Carter’s. Shop in-store for promotional offers and earn reward bucks for being a loyal shopper. They’ve also got tons of uniform options.
Egg New York – You can find a location in the Goodwives Shopping Center in Darien. They have the most durable and adorable clothing. Egg is also reasonably priced, and your kids will love all their looks!
Abercrombie Kids – You can find a location in Norwalk at the SoNo Collection or shop online! You can find great clothes for all the kids in your family.
Wiggles & Giggles – A hidden gem in the heart of Darien. This store’s bright yellow features will have your kids smiling before they even walk in. Clothes are all on trend, and you can find the best outfits for your whole crew!
Never discount the local consignment shops, some of which host annual not-to-be-missed sales. Try the local favorite Around The Rosy in Westport or Once Upon a Child in Danbury.
Finally, don’t forget to secure the best backpacks around! Some favorite places to shop for backpacks include L.L. Bean, Target, Pottery Barn Kids, Amazon, and Land’s End.
