Shopping Local For the Holidays!

shop localThe holidays will certainly be different this year. The pandemic has me thinking about gift giving earlier than usual. Since I’m a huge supporter of shopping local whenever I can, combined with my concern of pandemic shipping delays, I have decided to only shop local this holiday season. I’m also hoping it will be a small way to give back during an extremely stressful year for most.

Below are a few local shopping spots that I’m excited to support this December.

The Beehive – They have a host of amazing home furnishing items, eclectic finds, and delightful gift ideas. It is perfect for any family member with discerning taste. I scooped up a beautiful nursing chair here a few years ago. Their selection truly runs the gamut.

Fairfield Cheese Company – Who doesn’t love cheese? Fairfield Cheese Company has a ton to offer. From well-appointed gift baskets to delicious cheese plates, they also host various classes and events that have recently transitioned to virtual.

The Toy Chest – If you miss the days of Mom and Pop toy stores, this is your place. They offer a great selection of toys for all ages and offer great customer service and complimentary gift wrap.

Terrain –Terrain has been a favorite local stop for giving and receiving gifts ever since moving to the area. From gardening and outdoor accessories to home furnishings, from tabletop and dishware to bath and body, you can’t go wrong discovering high-end and unique custom gifts. During the holiday season, the space lights up and is especially festive. There is nowhere to get you more in the spirit. They host many events, and you can also take a class on anything from wreath making to cooking classes, morning yoga, and spa + wellness workshops.

Local Giftcards – I’m sure that gift cards will be especially popular this year. How about one to your favorite local spa or favorite local restaurant. Nefaire in Westport is a great local spa. If you’ve never been, they have a unique approach and focus on skincare. They also make a lot of their own products. It is no-frills, inexpensive, luscious, and indulgent all at the same time.

Happy Holiday Shopping Mamas! Where is your fave spot to shop?
