The Volvo XC90In addition to owning Fairfield County Mom and Westchester County Mom, I am a third-grade teacher and have a long commute to work. What’s even more frustrating is that what should be a 25-minute drive on I95 takes me about an hour (or longer!), depending on traffic. Then after school, I use my car as my office making calls, and then drive my three kids to ALL their after-school activities, the grocery store, and other errands that need to be done! I spend way more time in my car than I’d like to admit.

Luckily I am the proud owner of a Volvo XC90 from Riley Volvo Cars Stamford. There are many amazing safety features, and the look and level of comfort make the ride enjoyable. It makes my commute worth the drive! Here’s why…

1. The Huge Display Screen

Having such a large, clear display screen makes driving a breeze. I turn on my heated seat and steering wheel every morning and connect my iPhone to the car. CarPlay pops up, and I set Waze to check and see how terrible traffic will be, turn on my audiobook, and head to work. I love that everything is hands-free. I can easily make calls, read and send texts, and add things to my to-do list with the touch of a button.

2. The Safety Features

This car is not only safe but smart! Systems can detect and help avoid a collision with sound warnings, visible notifications on the dashboard, and brake pulse warnings when needed. The car can even brake automatically. Once when I was stuck in standstill traffic and saw a car speeding towards me in my rearview mirror, my seatbelt automatically tightened to brace against any impact.

3. The Self-Ride Button

This car can drive itself. With another push of a button, the car will self-drive at under 20 miles an hour. I rarely use this feature because I don’t like giving up control (I’m an enneagram 3!), but it is a useful tool when stuck in stop-and-go traffic during my commute. I also use the lane-keeping aid. This gently alerts me with a vibration and steers my car back into the lane if I start to cross over. Self-drive feature

4. The Beauty and Comfort

The XC90 is a luxury, family-friendly car. On my personal Volvo App, I even named my car Beauty. My car has a Bright Silver exterior and Charcoal leather interior. The dashboard is clear and clean, and cupholders are everywhere (a must for my coffee and water!). There is also plenty of space, and I can program my seat settings, so I’m guaranteed to be comfortable. One of the most enjoyable parts of my commute is that I’m alone with no passengers in the back seat! This car can seat up to seven people, and I can quickly put the third row up and down depending on my after-school carpool situation or needed trunk space.

Even my husband loves this car! If you are looking for the perfect ride for your daily commute or a family-friendly vehicle, head down to Riley Volvo Cars Stamford. Jameson and AJ run the family-owned business. They are kind, honest, caring, and dedicated to keeping drivers safe and happy. You won’t regret the stop there, and you might leave with a new XC90. It will be worth the drive!
