My family (my husband, three daughters, and myself) had the pleasure of visiting LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Yonkers, NY last weekend and boy was it FUN! Tucked away at the end of Ridge Hill Shopping Center, it really is as the website describes it, “The ultimate indoor LEGO playground.”

There are a number of building stations, two play spaces (one for bigger kids and one for toddlers), amazing LEGO displays that will blow your mind, two thrilling rides, a 4D movie, and a cafe for refreshments (we know this is a necessity with kids). It offers a little something for each member of your family! However, instead of me raving about our time there, I thought our day might be best described by the real experts, my seven, four, and two year old daughters!

Interview with my seven year old (we’ll call her D7):

Elisabeth: What was your most favorite part of LEGOLAND Discovery Center?

D7: Definitely the rides! They were really fun!

E: If we could have stayed for 30 more minutes, what would you have done?

D7: Each ride one more time, sing at the karaoke center, and the play space again.

E: If you were a seven-year-old boy, what do you think your favorite part would be?

D7: I would have loved building. My friends that are boys in school like to build, so I think they would like the parts where you could build your own LEGO things.

E: If you could change one thing about LEGOLAND, what would it be?

D7: Nothing. It is perfect. I just love it so much I wouldn’t change a thing!

Interview with my four year old (we’ll call her D4):

Elisabeth: What was your most favorite part of LEGOLAND Discovery Center?

D4: Every single part!

E: If we could have stayed for 30 more minutes, what would you have done?

D4: Building a car and testing it on the racetrack. I would also do the little house where you climb and the singing with Mia and Friends.

E: If you were a four-year-old boy, what do you think your favorite part would be?

D4: The car building and racing.

E: If you could change one thing about LEGOLAND, what would it be?

D4: I would add another ride!

Conversation with my two year old (we’ll call her D2):

Elisabeth: What was your most favorite part of LEGOLAND Discovery Center?

D2: When we swing around the rosie (Merlin’s Apprentice Ride)

E: What else did you love?

D2: I love the slide thing!

Let’s be honest, the kids’ reactions to activities like this are all that really count! We want to give them a fun experience! However, I’ll also give you an adult perspective! My favorite part of the LEGOLAND Discover Center was also the rides. It’s so exciting to hop on and be a kid again! If we could have stayed for 30 more minutes, I would have also built LEGO cars and tested them on the tracks.

My husband and I also decided that had we known, we would have spent more time at the whole Ridge Hill Shopping Center! There were tons of shops, delicious restaurants and even a Rockin’ Jump there; you could spend a full day there for sure! Finally, I am with my four year old – if I had to change one thing, I would add more rides!

So, if you find yourself wanting to take a day trip, I highly recommend LEGOLAND Discovery Center! Happy building!
