Playing Around Fairfield County 2019 {a summer play date series recap}

0

Can you believe that summer is over?! We can’t either! We just don’t want the summer fun to end. Especially since we had such a fantastic time Playing Around Fairfield County with so many of our readers in part of our fifth annual summer play date series! We had the opportunity to explore local spots that are perfect for taking classes, hosting birthday parties, or just setting up your own play dates with other mom friends. Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for this series. It was so fun to get to meet so many new local moms and kiddos! Here is a recap of all our fun!

Summer Series Play Date #1 :: Playing Around With Board & Brush Norwalk

This was the perfect spot to kick off our summer play date fun! We had fun getting our creative juices flowing and the kids loved making their own customized signs. The kids and adults were guided through every step and the staff at Board & Brush made the entire process easy and FUN! Kids learned how to sand the wood, blend paint colors, and paint their custom stencils. We brought our own snacks and drinks. Board & Brush is the perfect spot for a kids day out OR a moms night out {bonus: they are a BYOB establishment}, with several convenient locations throughout Fairfield County! Make sure you mention Fairfield County Moms Blog if you go.

Summer Series Play Date #2 :: Playing Around With Rockwell Dance Center {photos by Jennifer Lynn Photography}

Rockwell Dance Center provides instruction in ballet, pointe, partnering, modern, contemporary, contemporary ballet, jazz, acro, hip hop, tap, boys break dance, adult hip hop, jazz, jazz funk and a young dancers program. This was the cutest dance class to watch ever – Miss Julia was so great with the kids! While the kids were in class, the parents got a tour of their impressive 13,000 square feet of studio space, including 5 dance studios, a black box theater, costume shop, kitchen/café and 2 welcoming lobbies. After our dancers had tired themselves out, we ended the play date with cupcakes, cookies, and juice. You can tell from Jennifer Lynn Photography’s pictures that all of the kids had a BLAST on the dance floor!

At Rockwell, each student receives a solid foundation in dance and learns the importance of giving back to their community. Try out a dance class at Rockwell and don’t forget to mention Fairfield County Moms Blog!

Summer Series Play Date #3 :: Playing Around With The Goddard School, Bring the Hoopla, and Party Time with Music Mike {photos by Anna-Liisa Nixon Photography}

This playdate was such a great way to spend a beautiful summer Sunday morning! Between The Goddard School’s wonderful playground, hula hooping with Bring the Hoopla, listening to the musical stylings of Party Time with Music Mike, arts and crafts, yummy coffee and bagels from J Bagels, and being silly in front of the camera for Anna-Liisa Nixon, every kid left with a smile on their face!

The Goddard School is an award winning preschool with their faculty developing STEAM curriculum based on 21st learning and a playful & friendly atmosphere that builds the confidence and compassion young children need to gain innovative problem-solving skills. Bring the Hoopla and Party Time with Music Mike would be a wonderful addition to any birthday party or family get together, they kept everyone entertained and happy! And you can tell by the pictures that Anna-Liisa Nixon is sure to capture the wacky and sweet moments of everyday life. This was a dynamite playdate, thanks to all of these amazing sponsors. Please let them know that you heard about them from Fairfield County Moms Blog if you use them for your preschool, birthday party, or photography needs.

Summer Series Play Date #4 :: Playing Around With Ole Soccer

This play date literally kicked off with a ton of soccer balls on Ole Soccer’s indoor turf arena. The kids got to run around this fully enclosed area with clear glass walls so parents could view from the outside on comfy chairs and benches. The Ole coaches gathered all the little soccer players together and went over a few basic rules. Then the fun really started when they began practicing drills. Children were encouraged to use their imaginations and play like different animals (going slow like a turtle or fast like a lion) and they even pretended to be pirates going through different obstacles. The kids all had a blast following along.

Next we entered the most amazingly clean indoor jungle gym where children could climb, jump and slide through all of the equipment. Even better, parents could sit along the side with a great view of everything going on inside. And the fun didn’t end without chowing down on some delicious pizza!

Not only did this make the perfect play date, it would make the best birthday party too! And Ole Soccer offers classes starting at age 2. You can also drop in any time to play in the Jungle Gym. Just tell them your friends at Fairfield County Moms Blog sent you!

Summer Series Play Date #5 :: Playing Around With The Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA Camp and Outdoor Center {photos by Jennifer Lynn Photography}

What a wonderful way to end our summer play date series pretending that we were at summer camp for a day! The YMCA Camp and Outdoor Center is so beautiful, it made us wish that we could stay there all summer long. Each family rotated between mini golf, paddle boating, arts and crafts, face painting, and swimming in their pristine pools.

A HUGE thanks to ALL who participated in this fifth annual summer play date series! We hope to see you all soon Playing Around Fairfield County!!!
