Can you believe that it’s already August? We can’t either! We just don’t want the summer fun to end. Especially since we had such a fantastic time Playing Around Fairfield County with so many of our readers in part of our fourth annual summer play date series! We had the opportunity to explore local spots that are perfect for taking classes, hosting birthday parties, or just setting up your own play dates with other mom friends. Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for this series. It was so fun to get to meet so many new local moms and kiddos! Here is a recap of all our fun!
Summer Series Play Date #1 :: Playing Around With Commerce Park Children’s Dentistry and Orthodontics & Party Time with Music Mike
This was the perfect spot to kick off our summer play date fun! We had a blast pretending to be a dentist for a day. As everyone arrived we were greeted by Tina the Tooth and invited to listen to some tunes by Music Mike. Once everyone arrived children were broken up into small groups and rotated through stations. Kids learned about nutrition and sorted foods into snack bags and party bags, they saw an X-ray demonstration, and practiced keeping a healthy smile and more! Then the real fun began when everyone got to sing along and dance with Music Mike to all of our favorite songs. The play date ended with banannas, apples, and Rise Buddy chips for both the kids and parents. A total summer WIN!
If your little ones are nervous about going to the dentist, Commerce Park Children’t Dentistry and Orthodontics is the perfect place to go. They have offices in Bridgeport, Shelton, and Westport. Party Time with Music Mike is also the perfect addition to any birthday party. Mention Fairfield County Moms Blog and receive 10% off any standard party until 8/31.
Summer Series Play Date #2 :: Playing Around With Three Roots Education
Three Roots Education is located in the Ridgefield Flower Shop. Their mission is to educate students of all ages in local, sustainable, and creative practices. They offer classes which are seasonally appropriate and always keep the environment in mind. Our play date started off with painting with homemade watercolors, and then the kids got to make their own paint. Next everyone sat down for a story about growing plants and were later encouraged to plant their own seeds. Even better, everyone got to go outside and plant them in the outdoor garden. Everyone enjoyed some fruit along with Rise Buddy chips for a fun snack.
From toddler workshops, to private events, they offer something for everyone big and small. Be sure to drop in and mention Fairfield County Moms Blog!
Summer Series Play Date #3 :: Playing Around With Ole Soccer
This play date literally kicked off with a ton of soccer balls on Ole Soccer’s indoor turf arena. The kids got to run around this fully enclosed area with clear glass walls so parents could view from the outside on comfy chairs and benches. The Ole coaches gathered all the little soccer players together and went over a few basic rules. Then the fun really started when they began practicing drills. Children were encouraged to use their imaginations and play like different animals (going slow like a turtle or fast like a lion) and they even pretended to be pirates going through different obstacles. The kids all had a blast following along.
Next we entered the most amazingly clean indoor jungle gym where children could climb, jump and slide through all of the equipment. Even better, parents could sit along the side with a great view of everything going on inside. And the fun didn’t end without chowing down on some delicious pizza and Rice Buddy chips.
Not only did this make the perfect play date, it would make the best birthday party too! And Ole Soccer offers classes starting at age 2. You can also drop in any time to play in the Jungle Gym. Just tell them your friends at Fairfield County Moms Blog sent you!
