I had been looking forward to this day for weeks! I woke up, did my usual Saturday morning chores and errands, took a shower (yes, you heard right), put on jeans (this is true too), and even went a little wild with some eye make-up! Mama’s afternoon out!

I was so excited to have the opportunity to explore some of the many businesses and restaurants OnWashington, thanks to MaxEx PR!

Are you looking for something new and fun to do? Interested in supporting local businesses? Search no more! Downtown South Norwalk (otherwise known as SoNo) is one of the most up-and-coming neighborhoods in Fairfield County!  OnWashington is a brand that celebrates all the wonderful establishments along Washington Street, starting at Water Street and ending at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive!

This movement to connect all the local businesses was spearheaded by local real estate collective AGW SoNo Partners and is managed by MaxEx Public Relations. Washington Street is in the Historic District of Norwalk and is filled with mouthwatering dining, unique shops, salons, artists, and creative office spaces. AGW SoNo Partners strives to make OnWashington “Norwalk’s most intriguing neighborhood” and focuses on supporting the tenants, enhancing the block, and attracting new tenants to open their businesses.

AGW also designed Norwalk To-Go, a custom take-out and delivery app. It is meant to enhance the take-out and delivery portion of the restaurants’ processes that changed due to COVID restrictions and restaurant mandates. 100% of the sales go to the restaurants through the Norwalk To-Go platform.

We recommend you visit Affogato for ice cream + espresso, Beadworks for the most beautiful beads to craft, or Jean’s Closet for handmade pieces (or sign up for a class). For some self-care, check out Salon Etre, Salon Halo, and SoNo Tatoo! Restaurants include Donavan’s, Enchanted Szechuan, Il Posto, Mecha Noodle Bar, Oishi Sushi and Lzakaya, Pokemoto, Saltwater Restaurant, SoNo Boil Restaurant (a Cajun seafood joint coming soon!), and Tablao Wine Bar. Other businesses include Media Storm and REI Property Management.

We were inspired by the owners, such down-to-earth individuals looking to enhance your experiences in so many different ways, from espresso over ice cream to a beautiful blowout. A racy tattoo (you know it’s a bucket list item) to a crocheted scarf; there is something for everyone.

And, a few blocks away from Washington Street, you can visit The Maritime Aquarium, Bow Tie Cinemas, and SoNo Collection – making this a “Best of Norwalk” fun afternoon!
