Take Time for YOU at Nefaire Spa

NefaireAs a busy working mom of three little ones I know the importance of taking time for myself. I’ve had too many days of feeling like I’m going to lose my cool and explode. I know I need a break, but sometimes most of the time I feel that nagging mom guilt.

That’s why I was super excited to get the chance to visit Fairfield County Moms Blog sponsor, Nefaire Spa in Westport. I was invited to come in for a massage and facial, so of course I couldn’t say no! I easily scheduled an appointment and booked a babysitter (thanks Mom!) and added it to my calendar. Finally some time just for me!

Nefaire is a modern spa concept featuring organic facials and therapeutic massage. Their mission is to bring a slice of relaxation to the contemporary lifestyle. Exactly what all us mamas need! They completely understand and cater to the needs of busy moms by bringing a fresh approach to the spa experience.

Nefaire

Owner, Michael Chang, has created this unique spa that has a “kitchen” offering consultation, education, and fresh, custom preparation of products for esthetic and massage services. He believes in the efficacy of natural ingredients. Fresh recipes using various clays, salts, oils and vegetables are whipped up in their own Kitchen area to be used in their services; masks, exfoliators, essential oils, etc.

On the day of my visit they were featuring a Cellulite Coffee Scrub made with ground coffee, white sugar and avocado oil, as well as a Healing Lip Balm made with beeswax, coconut oil, vitamin E, and essential oil.

During my visit I was made to feel special and was greeted by name as I walked into their beautiful space. I was asked to fill out a questionnaire so that they could best meet my individual needs and create custom treatments in their Kitchen. The most valuable question was, “What is your goal of this session?” Obviously my answer was to RELAX and ENJOY!

For my massage, the essential oil choice was selected and mixed in with the lotion. (They will soon be adding in a foot scrub service that will be using a freshly made pink salt exfoliator). The massage therapist applied just the right amount of pressure and was able to focus on my neck and shoulders. I had indicated these were the spots where I feel the most stress and tension (computer induced blogger problems). While she worked her magic I was able to focus on the calming music and quiet my mind. The fragrance of the essential oils she used helped tremendously!

Since my facial was booked immediately after, I didn’t have to wait or move from the table. My esthetician came in right away and analyzed my skin. I always thought that my skin tended to be on the oily side, but to my surprise she identified a few areas of dryness. She also noticed a few small blackheads and spots that could easily be extracted (even from my chest area). For my specific treatment my esthetician used fresh ingredients on my skin. They are currently working on ways to bring the skin analysis to the front of house. This way clients will be able to see their treatments being made right in front of them in the Kitchen. My facial consisted of a gentle wash, massage, extraction, mask, and moisturizer. Afterwards my skin felt so smooth and I swear my face was glowing!

Michael explained to me that he used to have all sorts of skin issues – chronic acne, chronic hives, etc. and sought the help of multiple dermatologists. Over the years he tried different topicals, every type of antibiotic “cyclin”, and even the controversial drug Accutane, twice. He decided to do his own research, with the help of his mother, and learned that human skin is extremely complex. Multiple factors were triggering his flare ups. He began to understand that just like a workout routine, care for your skin can’t be something you do just once in awhile.

That’s where the idea of Nefaire began. Micahel brought on his mother to help and he consulted with a friend who is a hospitality entrepreneur and Angel investor in Classpass, to bring the concept to fruition.

You can easily book any treatment as necessary. An on-demand mobile app is in the works and is expected to be launching soon. This would make it possible for an esthetician or massage therapist to come directly to you in the privacy of your own home!

So what are you waiting for? Stop making excuses and take some time for YOU! Nefaire Spa is offering all Fairfield County Moms Blog readers an hour facial plus eye treatment along with an hour massage for only $140 (a $245 value!). All you need to do is schedule the appointment and mention FCMB.
