Mike’s Organic Delivery :: Your Organic Is Showing

You’re a smart mama. You know how important it is to feed your family healthy whole foods that are primarily organic – but it’s so dang expensive and time consuming to do so!

Well, thankfully I have the solution for you. If you want fresh LOCAL organic produce, meats, and more conveniently delivered to your front doorstep look no further than FC Moms Blog sponsor, MIKE’S ORGANIC DELIVERY!

I had heard of this friendly Fairfield County service and had even spotted one of their signature trucks last summer; however, to be honest I was not exactly sure how their awesome services worked. Thankfully I was able to rectify that when I not only had the opportunity to experience their delivery service, but also got the chance to tour Mike’s warehouse and meet him in person.

How it works

Think of Mike’s Organic Delivery as the “Amazon Prime” of fresh, local, yummy food. I had the misconception that Mike’s Organics was similar to a CSA or farm share, however, their service is so much more user friendly and interchangeable. When you visit their website, you can pick out what items you want delivered. The company provides a plethora of delicious organic foods from kale and Brussel sprouts to chocolate milk and grass fed beef. One component that is especially important to my family is being able to pick out what items my family enjoys. I loathe wasting food! And their company offers so much more than just amazing produce. There is also a variety of meats, fish, coffee, eggs, dairy and pantry products.

Delivery

This could not be simpler. You arrange a drop off date and they give you a three-hour window. Both my husband and I work outside our home so for us Mike instructed that we leave a cooler filled with ice on our porch. Our older daughter thought the “chore” of filling the cooler in the morning with freezing cold ice was extremely fun!

When we came home that afternoon our large blue cooler was filled with fresh, local (I know I have used this phrase a zillion times but I can’t find another way to say it) delicious food. Our family was thrilled to find brilliant green broccoli, sweet potatoes, kale, eggs, grass fed steak and by far my husband’s favorite artisan cheese filled pork sausages. He is still raving about the sausages which we grilled up alongside the zucchini and broccoli the first night we received our delivery. My favorite part of our delivery was the bag of field greens. From spicy swiss chard to tender leaves I have been eating ALL my meals on top of these delectable lettuces. When I asked the girls, what made their tummies the happiest they chose the awesome apples which they have been enjoying as an afternoon snack.

So much MORE

Don’t let the “Delivery” part fool you. There is SO much more to this friendly company. On Friday’s you can personally visit their warehouse which is conveniently located in the Shippan area of Stamford and pick out your groceries. One of components that I was most excited to learn about from the webpage was their custom-made gift baskets. How cool is that? The next time a Mommy friend has a baby you can order them a generous and thoughtful gift basket so that their family can enjoy great food. They also include recipe cards and suggestions in their deliveries so you always know just how to prepare something.

The Take Away

Yes, the food is local but so is the company! I love supporting a family run business that is in my own backyard. Their customer service is stellar and they work with you and your family to deliver amazing healthy products. Truly it is a win, win situation for you and your family.

Mike’s Organic Delivery is offering all Fairfield County Moms Blog readers $100 off any full season summer package (use the code: summer17) or $10 off any order (use the code: berrysweet).

Nikki has called wonderful Fairfield County her home, her entire life. Growing up on a campus of a private school in Greenwich, CT Nikki swore to her educator parents that she would never be a teacher. Well life has a way of repeating itself and now Nikki and her amazingly supportive husband are happily working at a different independent school in Greenwich. A recovering “type a” perfectionist she is learning to let go of her color coding, alphabetizing ways and embrace the mess. Helping her enjoy life’s everyday messes are her two precocious girls Sofie (11/15/11) and Keira (9/7/13). Nikki loves all things mommy cliché including but not limited to walks on the beach, running, reality TV, organizing closets, wine, chocolate and having her kids help her out in the kitchen.
