Meet Jasmine!

Parenthood really redefines the meaning of the word “tired.” This morning I nearly put breastmilk in my coffee, having collected it in the handy new Haakka pump (where was that 8 years ago?). The Haakka looks much like a milk pitcher, hence my instinct to just add it to my coffee. Luckily I caught myself just in time before wasting that precious and hard earned breastmilk on myself and not my 14 week old baby. But who am I kidding? I would have drank that coffee anyway because coffee is also precious and sleep deprivation is no joke.

I’m currently 14 weeks postpartum with my third child and 8 years older than I was with my first. Being a 40 year old mom of three is awesome and challenging and also, you guessed it; exhausting. I have an 8 year old girl, a 6 year old boy and a 14 week old girl. My husband works in advertising in NYC where we met 19 years ago. We’ve been together for 18 years and married for 12.

I’m originally from Connecticut but spent college, graduate school and my 20s in New York where I did things like “brunch” and “read books” and “go out at night with adults.” Now I work as a personal caterer and maid to the small, bossy humans whom I created. I am also a psychotherapist and recently left a local agency to start my own private practice. So, yes. I’m tired. And older than I once was. But life is full and I love living in Fairfield. It’s a great area with so many things for families to do, and I’ve met some wonderful parents who are cool and down to earth and who also used to have interesting personal lives but now serve at the mercy of their small bosses.

I look forward to sharing some of my thoughts and experiences with other area parents. I’m excited for the opportunity to join the Fairfield County Mom’s Blog team!
