Throughout the year, my family likes to support local organizations and/or drives. The holidays are especially a time when we feel it matters more to someone else than us. This Thanksgiving, we are fortunate to have so much to be thankful for… a healthy, happy family with a roof over our heads, food in our refrigerator, and multiple invitations for Thanksgiving dinner. For those less fortunate, there are several local organizations who will be collecting and distributing frozen turkeys and trimmings, and even winter coats. As you give thanks for all you have, please also consider giving to those in need in Fairfield County.
The Connecticut Food Bank, an affiliate of Feeding America, provides food and resources to nearly 700 community-based food programs, such as soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters and low-income adult and child day programs, in six Connecticut counties, including Fairfield County.
