Weston is a mostly residential town in Fairfield County, approximately 45 miles outside New York City. It was originally Norfield Parish when settlers came from Fairfield in 1757, and it consisted of Easton and Weston. The two towns eventually split in 1845. Weston is surrounded by some other great towns, such as Easton, Fairfield, Redding, Westport, and Wilton. Weston is also considered a “sister” town to Westport which affords the residents to use Westport amenities for a nominal fee. Though there is little commercial development in Weston there are several highlights of this quaint town.

1. The Lunch Box

There are two great spots to get your food in Weston and The Lunch Box is one of them. The Lunch Box is a locally owned restaurant in Weston town center that offers an expansive menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  

2.  Peter’s Weston Market

Peter’s Weston Market is a full-service grocery store that offers catering, baked goods, premade meals, and a soup and salad bar. It is also the anchor store for the shops in Weston town center.

3. Lang’s Pharmacy

Located in Weston center is Lang’s, a small independent pharmacy. Not only does it offer convenient pharmacy hours as well as an app for refills, but it also has great gifts. They also sell cosmetics, perfumes, and toiletry items.

4. LaChat Town Farm

LaChat Town Farm is a beautiful farm on Godfrey Road West. The farm hosts community gardens and a monthly farmers market. The farmers market brings in several different farms, food trucks, goods, as well as live music. They run from June through October. They also have a special holiday market in December. A variety of classes and programs for adults and children alike are offered throughout the year, ranging from art to yoga to pickling. There is something for everyone!

 5. Weston Library

The Weston Library is a great resource for the town. It has several children’s programs, including outdoor story times, digital resources, and crafts. It has book groups and they offer museum passes as well.

6. Bisceglie-Scribner Park

Bisceglie-Scribner Park has a playground, fitness trail, picnic area, little league fields, and a swimming pond. The swimming pond is free to Weston residents, but you do need a pass that you can get through the Parks & Recreation department.

7. Weston Parks & Recreation 

Weston Parks & Recreation is a great asset to the town that offers a variety of programs for children and adults. Swim lessons and summer camps are highlights of their offerings.  

8. Weston Historical Society

The Weston Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the history of Weston and educating others. It works very closely with the school district in helping coordinate educational programs. There are also several exhibits and events offered throughout the year. Another highlight of the Weston Historical Society is their “Music at the Barn” series. You can attend several outdoor concerts throughout the summer months. If you are a member you can also see these shows at a discounted rate.

9. Lucius Pond Ordway/Devil’s Den Preserve

Devil’s Den Preserve is the largest preserve in Connecticut, hosting 1,756 acres of protected land. It is home to several aquatic species as well as over 140 species of birds. Devil’s Den provides a great habitat for hiking, bird watching, and cross-country skiing. The preserve has a 20-mile trail system that you can use for those activities.

10. Aspetuck Land Trust

Aspetuck Land Trust is a non-profit that preserves and conserves open space in Weston and surrounding towns. It manages several Weston preserves that can be found here. The trust supports a Junior Ranger Program where children can check out backpacks from the Weston Library and explore some of the preserves also. The backpack gives them maps and tools for exploring.
