Happy Hour is happy time for most mamas! It’s always fun when you can break up the usual happenings of the week and meet up with some girlfriends and enjoy some kid-free company. The Fairfield County Moms Blog contributor team recently got together at Bistro Versailles, located on Greenwich Avenue, for a much needed (early) moms’ night out!
Bistro Versailles is a French inspired and locally adored restaurant and bakery. The food is contemporary and casual, while elegantly presented. Bistro V is excited to welcome back Cedric Lamouille as Executive Chef. He has revamped the breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch and dinner menus….as well as Happy Hour for summer. General Manager, Arturo Cedenho, has also revamped and launched a new summer cocktail program. You can visit them for Happy Hour every day from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m and take advantage of the cocktail, beer, wine and food specials.
During our visit we were lucky enough to score an outside table right on Greenwich Avenue. Perfect for people watching and catching up with the team! We started off with Rose and Prosecco, however, their cocktail selection is fantastic! Next time I go I am definitely ordering the French Girl Martini.
Now on to the food! There was a great selection and everything was reasonably priced. We started with a round of oysters that are locally farmed at Blue Point in Westport, CT. There aren’t many things more refreshing than shooting oysters on a hot summer day. We also ordered Blue Mussels (cooked with fennel seeds, white wine, shallots, and thyme), Spiced Pulled Pork Sliders – Cubano Style (with jalapeno, pepperjack, and ham), and an extra order of house cut fries with truffle and Parmesan. Yum!
Bistro Versailles also offers great weekly specials and events:
- Brunch runs every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Live Music every Wednesday and Friday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
- Wine Appreciation is every Tuesday and Wednesday with 50% off all bottles of wine under $100.
- Every Thursday and Sunday they celebrate Rose All Day with 25% off Rose bottles all day.
- Prix Fixe Lunches every Monday – Friday for only $19.
And of course dinner! They make a wonderful spot to meet up with friends after work, or to enjoy a date night with the one you love. They are also family friendly, so pick up the kids and head out for a quick dinner! You can thank us later!
