It might still be considered winter, but it’s that time of year when moms need to start thinking about summer plans. Wait, what!? Yup, any experienced mom knows that to stay sane during summer break, you need to put those kiddos in camp! But there are just so many options out there to choose from. Future Stars offers year-round after-school and weekend basketball programs and Summer Multi-Sport and Basketball camps throughout Connecticut. Camp Playland in New Canaan is the day camp with the away camp atmosphere! Create Learning Center is a creative environment offering preschool programs, summer camp, and after-school enrichment classes serving children 16 months to 10 years. They are flexible! Brookfield Craft Center offers a full range of year-round programs for youth. There are programs for all ages, after school hours, and during school breaks. They also have day programs for Home Schoolers. For those interested in Summer programs, their Hands-On Art Youth Program is a great alternative to full-day summer-long programs. Their small groups allow students to receive individual attention from the instructor in a warm, family-like atmosphere. They offer four one-week sessions with half-day and full-day options. Every class will have an experienced artist and an assistant to help the students learn fundamental skills in various craft mediums. Types of classes offered are glass bead making, woodturning, pottery, fiber art, blacksmith skills, painting & drawing, 3-D printing, photography, and other digital craft skills.



At Summer at Wooster, they believe summer is a time for kids to be kids. It’s as simple as that. Their camp experience is designed around giving kids the chance to tap into what makes them happy, what challenges them, what sparks curiosity, what causes fits of giggles, what inspires creativity, what drives ambition, what creates lasting friendships. Camp dates are June 22 through August 7, 2020 for Pre-K through Grade 8.







Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center is dedicated to assisting visitors, students, and scholars in understanding significant lives and events during the site’s 300-year history. Join Keeler Kids, a fun and educational summer experience! Keeler Kids runs three sessions: Session 1 for boys and girls in grades 1 – 3; Session 2 for boys and girls in grades 4 – 6; and Session 3 for students entering grades 7 and up. Each session offers a unique chance to explore life at the historic Keeler Tavern through a variety of engaging, hands-on, and multi-disciplinary activities. Join in on fun crafts, games, songs, stories, and foods from Colonial Days through the Gilded Age. Keeler Kids is the perfect opportunity for your child to step back in time and discover first-hand what life was like in centuries past.


Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA Camp Tepee in Monroe is a great outdoor summer experience for children ages 3-15 years old. Campers will explore the 47 acres. They’ll be challenged on the zip-line, climbing wall, and ropes course; learn to be safe in and around the water with swimming lessons; create in arts and crafts; and fish in the lake. There are also STEM, nature, outdoor education, survival skills, special events, and much more! Youth have an opportunity to build new skills and talents, foster relationships with friends and role models, and develop a sense of belonging, so they feel comfortable to be themselves. Their welcoming and inspiring setting motivates kids to push past their comfort zones, to try new things, and to build confidence in their abilities. 


Under the direction of experienced and knowledgeable coaching staff, campers will take advantage of St. Luke’s state-of-the-art athletic facilities in a fun and safe environment. The focus will be on individual skill development as well as tactical and team development. In addition to honing their skills, campers will learn about the importance of leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship: soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, field hockey, basketball, squash, tennis, and more! Both full-day and half-day sessions are available. Campers will participate in multiple sports over any one week. Junior Camp is designed for 4-7 year-olds to learn the fundamentals of various sports with our experienced and enthusiastic coaches. The camp will be focused on providing a fun sporting experience for all with individual skill development at the forefront. Junior Campers may also access St. Luke’s Music, Art & Nature Camp at no additional cost.



Summer at St. Luke’s offers a wide range of courses, camps, and workshops for Pre-K through high school students as well as for adults. College Essay Writing Workshops, Arts and STEM programs, Academic classes and Sports Camp are just a few of the activities available.
